Athletics Philosophy

At CCBC Essex, our goal is to develop well-rounded student athletes - students who can compete successfully both in the classroom and in their athletic endeavors. Our teams frequently finish in the top quarter of the Maryland Junior College Athletic Conference (MD JUCO) and the National Junior College Athletic Association’s (NJCAA) Region 20; numerous student athletes earn All-MD JUCO and All-Region 20 honors; academic accolades; and many have achieved NJCAA All-American status. Countless CCBC Essex sophomore student athletes transfer on to continue their education at four-year colleges and universities.

In keeping with CCBC’s Mission, the Knights' coaches take pride in their roles contributing to providing an accessible, affordable and high-quality education that prepares students for transfer and career success, strengthens the regional workforce and enriches our community.  Our teams represent CCBC Essex with outstanding sportsmanship, numerous victories, and a commitment to academic success.
