Bio

Carter began serving as head baseball coach at CCBC Essex in 2011, after spending the 2010 season as pitching coach. He has led the Knights to NJCAA Region XX Division II titles in 2016 (its first since 1992) and 2018, the team's first NJCAA Northeast District title (2018) and an appearance in the 2018 NJCAA Division II Baseball World Series, the team's first such trip in over 25 years.

He began his coaching career at Allegany College (2002-2006) as pitching coach for the Trojans, who advanced to the NJCAA College World Series in 2006. Carter also spent 2013 as head coach of the Baltimore Red Birds of the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League, where he led the team to the CRCBL League title.

Carter played college baseball for Allegany (1997-1998) and appeared in the NJCAA College World Series in 1997. He graduated from Fairmont State College (Fairmont, W.Va.) with a Bachelors of Science in Physical Education and from West Virginia University with a Master’s of Science in Athletic Coaching Education.

Carter spends his days working for Baltimore City Public Schools as a Physical Education and Health teacher at Digital Harbor High School.
