Baseball: Knights Release 2019 Schedule

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. – CCBC Essex Knights baseball today announced its 2019 schedule, which will begin in South Carolina, March 2-3 as the Knights play four games in Lancaster. Head coach Mike Carter enters his ninth season fresh off winning a second regional title in three years and taking a trip to last season's NJCAA Division II Baseball World Series in Enid, Okla.       

Home

The Knights open up their home schedule against intra-campus rival CCBC Catonsville on Tuesday, March 5 at 3:00 p.m. Four days later, the Knights host Garrett Community College in a twin bill with the first pitch at noon.

The following week, Essex hosts Prince George's Community College on Tuesday, March 12 and University of Connecticut at Avery Point (Groton, Conn.).   

On Sunday, March 17, the Knights take on SUNY Orange (Middletown, N.Y.) for a double header beginning at 11:00 a.m.

The Knights continue the home double headers on their next home stand.

On Friday, March 22, Essex hosts Erie Community College (Williamsville, N.Y.) with the first pitch coming at 12:00 p.m.

Four days later, Essex's other sibling comes to town as CCBC Dundalk hits the CCBC Essex diamond for 3:30 p.m. start.

The first game in April comes as a home game against Harford Community College on Tuesday, April 2 at 3:30 p.m.

Monroe College's (Rochester, N.Y.) JV team comes to Essex on Friday, April 5 for a double header that starts at 2:00 p.m.

The next week, the Knights host Anne Arundel Community College on Thursday April 11 at 3:30 p.m., and then Montgomery College for a double header on Saturday, April 13 starting at noon.

On Tuesday, April 16, the Knights host Cecil College at 3:00 p.m. and then on Saturday, April 20, the Knights host Frederick for a double header starting at noon.

The final three home games come in a span of two days starting on Tuesday, April 23 for a double header against Stevenson University JV at 2:00 p.m. The next day, the Knights close out their home slate against Delaware Tech (Georgetown, Del.) with a 3:30 p.m. game.

Away

The first away game is on Thursday, March 7 as Harford hosts the Knights for a 4:00 p.m. game.

On Thursday, March 14, Cecil hosts the Knights for a 3:00 p.m. game and then on Saturday, March 16, Essex will travel to Allegany for a double header starting at noon.

For the next two away games, Essex travels to CCBC Dundalk on Tuesday, March 19 and Anne Arundel on Thursday, March 21. Both are scheduled for a 3:30 p.m. first pitch.

On Saturday March 23, Hagerstown welcomes the Knights for a double header starting at noon.

The Knights travel to CCBC Catonsville on Thursday, March 28 for a 3:30 p.m. game, followed by a double header at Chesapeake College on March 30, starting at noon.

The first away game in April comes on Sunday, April 7, as the Knights travel to Rowan College at Burlington County (Pemberton, N.J.) for a double header that begins at noon.

The Knights travel back to New Jersey on Sunday, April 14 for a double header against Camden College (Camden, N.J.).

Prince George's host the Knights on Thursday, April 18 for a 3:00 p.m. game.

The Knights end its regular season with a double header at College of Southern Maryland on Saturday, April 27. First pitch scheduled for noon.

Postseason

The NJCAA Region XX Division II Tournament will be hosted by Frederick May 10-12. Game times will be announced no later than the week of the tournament.
