Men's Soccer Schedule Release: Knights Eye 8th Straight Region Crown

Baltimore County, Md. – The Knights won their seventh consecutive NJCAA Region XX Division I title last season and earned a bid to the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championships for the fourth time in the last six seasons.

For the sixth consecutive season, the Knights will begin the season with its annual CCBC Essex Knights Kickoff Classic, August 24-25.

They face Eastern Florida State College (Melbourne, Fla.) on day one at 5 p.m. and Harcum College (Bryn Mawr. Pa.) at 4 p.m. on day two.

Here's how the rest of the Knights' schedule will play out.

Home

The Knights host Montgomery College on September 3 at 7 p.m. It is the teams' first meeting since the Knights defeated the Raptors 3-2 in overtime last October to capture the regional title.

Essex returns home, after two road matches, on September 12 to take on Cecil College. The Knights blanked the Seahawks 3-0 in their only meeting last season.

Another nine-day break away from home gives the Knights its next home match on September 21. Hagerstown Community College comes to town for a 2 p.m. Saturday matinee.

On September 26, the Knights welcome Potomac State College of West Virginia University (Keiser, W.Va.). Game time is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Carroll Community College, who is participating in athletics for the first time this season, travels to Essex on October 3.

Frederick Community College will be at The Kingdom on October 15. The Knights lost to the Cougars during the regular season in 2018, but returned the favor, defeating Frederick on penalty kick to reach the regional final.

The Knights' home and regular season finale is October 17 against Allegany College of Maryland. Game time is scheduled for 6 p.m.

Away

CCBC Essex hits the road two days after its mixer and heads north to face Harford Community College. The Knights are 7-1-1 against the Fighting Owls over the last six seasons.

On September 6, head coach Joe Fiedler and his crew travel to Anne Arundel Community College. Four days later, the Knights are on the road again to take on Prince George's Community College.

College of Southern Maryland will host Essex on September 17, then a week later the Knights are on the road to Howard Community College.

September 28 - October 1, the Knights will play three road games in four days, beginning with a trip to New York.

Monroe Community College (Rochester, N.Y.) welcomes the Knights on September 28 and Genesee Community College (Batavia, N.Y.) on September 29.

Essex is back in Maryland on October 1 and will travel to intra-campus rival CCBC Catonsville.

The Knights final road game of the season is on October 8 against Chesapeake College.

Postseason

NJCAA Region XX Division I Men's Soccer Tournament action will be hosted by Harford Community College. The semifinals will be played on October 30 and final November 2.

The Region XX champion and runner up will travel to a TBA Region 19 school for the North Central District Tournament.

The District champion will earn a bid in the national tournament, this year hosted by Tyler Junior College (Tyler, Texas).
