Men's Soccer: Knights Riding Three-Game Winning Streak

Baltimore County, Md. -- Since losing its season opener 7-0 on August 24 to No. 5 ranked Eastern Florida, the Knights have won three straight games - including No. 12 Montgomery College at home - and have outscored its opponents 10-3 in the process.

The Knights wasted no time getting back on the horse, as they defeated Harcum College 2-1 less than 24 hours after its first loss of the season.

Isaiah Price (Bowie) led CCBC Essex on offense, scoring both of the team's goals. The first one opened scoring in the sixth minute of play and his second in the 65th minute proved to be the game-winner.

Jack Roby (Oakdale) and the Knights' defense played well throughout. The latter limited the Bears to just three shots on goal and Roby saved two.

Two days later on August 27, Essex hit the road for the first time this season, traveling north on Interstate-95 to meet Harford in a match with conference and NJCAA Region XX Division I implications.

The Knights had a frustrating first half. They dominated possession, taking 17 shots, but Harford keeper Ben Florio all seven that were on goal and the game went to halftime scoreless.

CCBC Essex would break through in a big way after the break.

A minute and a half into the second half, Daigo Adachi (Miyagi, Japan) slipped through the defense and finished a pass from Andy Portillo (Laurel) to get things rolling for the Knights.

Then in the 55th minute, Price was drug down in the box for a penalty kick, which he converted himself.

Three minutes later, Adachi would strike again for his second goal of the day.

In the 66th minute, a Knights defensive error led to a Harford goal that would make the score 3-1.

Price would find the back of the net again in the 71st minute, beating the goalie with a far post shot.

Essex continued to score, as Adachi played a ball in to Sam Adunah (Gar-Field Senior) who would get the tally.

In the 88th minute, Essex would score again. This time Rezon Ahmeti (London, England) played a ball from the corner to the six that Wilfred Tinay (Owings Mills) finished.

Roby finished the night with three saves on fours shots on goal, as the Knights cruised to a 6-1 victory.

Knights Take Down No. 12 Montgomery

In a fast paced, high energy game the Knights defeated the Raptors 2-1 to go to 3-1 on the season and 2-0 in Maryland Juco Conference and Region XX play.

Kota Tsuchizawa (Tochigi, Japan) got the Knights on the board in the 13th minute by slotting home a head ball from a cross played in by Seth Onolaja (Loyola Blakefield) for an early 1-0 lead

That would be the only goal of the first half, as the play was back and forth with both teams having opportunities on the offensive side.

In the 63rd minute, the Raptors got even when Daniel Tsaiani scored a head ball off played in by Francisco Mangue.

It looked as the game was heading to over time until the Knights won a free kick outside the box with 3:30 remaining.

Price would step up and hit a beautiful free kick into the far right upper corner where the goalie stood no chance. It was his fifth goal of the season and third game-winner.

"Anytime you get a win it's great," said head coach Joe Fiedler. "We got a [win] over a very good Montgomery team tonight."

Roby finished the game with five saves.
