Women's Soccer: Knights 2018 Schedule Release

Baltimore County, MD -- The Knights will open the 2018 season with the CCBC Essex Knights Kickoff Classic and play five in a row – seven of nine – at home to begin the season.

Home

In their August 25 home opener, the Knights host Monroe College (Bronx, N.Y.), a team that finished 7-5 in 2017.

The following day Essex will play Onondaga Community College (Syracuse, N.Y.). The Lazers were 9-10-1 last season.

On August 30 at 5 p.m., the Knights continue their home stand with a match with Harcum College (Bryn Mawr, Pa.). Essex last season defeated the Bears 3-2 on the road.

Frederick Community College comes to CCBC Essex Stadium on September 4 to open the Knights' Maryland Juco conference and Region XX schedule. The home stand continues four days later and ends with a match against Anne Arundel Community College.

The Knights return home on September 18 against Montgomery College and are not back in Rosedale, Md. until September 28 to host Cecil College.

On October 12, the Knights will play Mercer County Community College (West Windsor Township, N.J.) at 6p.m.

Essex hosts Monroe Community College (Rochester, N.Y.) two days later, a team that finished 2017 as the No. 12 ranked team in the nation.

The 2018 home finale is October 17 against the Dragons of Howard Community College.

Away

Essex will get the season "started" with a pair of scrimmages on the road against Hood College and Goucher College, August 19 and August 22, respectfully.

On September 15, the Knights will pay their first away game against intra-campus rival CCBC Catonsville in a Saturday matinee match.

Hartford Community College ended 2017 ranked as the No.7 NJCAA women's soccer team. The Knights will head to Bel Air, Md. on September 21 to face the Fighting Owls.

On September 30, the Knights hit the road to New Jersey to play Rowan College at Burlington County (Pemberton, N.J.), then two days later head to La Plata, Md. to face College of Southern Maryland.

The Knights head north at the end of the first week of October to play Bunker Hill Community College (Boston, Mass.) on October 7 and Massasoit Community College (Brockton, Mass.) on October 8 for their regular season finale.

Postseason

The NJCAA Region XX Division I Tournament is hosted this year by CCBC Catonsville, with the semifinals October 25 and final October 27.

Should the Knights win its first regional title since 2012, they would travel and play at the Region XIX champion on November 3 in the NJCAA District L semifinal. The district final is on November 4 and a location to be determined.

The NJCAA Division II Women's Soccer Championships begin November 12 in Foley, Ala.
