Volleyball: Knights Release 2018 Slate

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD – The 2018 Knights' volleyball schedule features eight home dates, including the Third Annual Knights Volleyball Mixer.

Home

The Knights annual scrimmage against its alumni will be held August 17.

On September 11, the Knights will play its home opener against the College of Southern Maryland, a team that beat them twice last season.

Two days later, CCBC Essex plays Howard Community College. The Knights and Dragons split their two games last year.

It will be over two weeks between home contests before the Knights mixer will happen September 29-30, in the Wellness and Athletics Center at CCBC Essex.

On Day one, the Knights will play Community College of Beaver County at 1:00 p.m. and Harcum College at 2:30 p.m.

Day two of the tournament will be determined by day one results.

On October 2, CCBC Essex will play Cecil College. The Seahawks last season beat the Knights 3-2.

The Knights will play Frederick on October 9, at 7p.m. and look to defeat the Cougars for the first time since 2013.

On October 11, Essex will host Hagerstown and try to avenge a pair of 2017 losses, which included one in the first round of the NJCAA Region XX Division II Tournament.

CCBC Essex plays its home finale and "Sophomore Night" game on October 16, welcoming Chesapeake College for a 6 p.m. match.

Away

The Knights' season opener is on the road at the Dragon Invitational, hosted by Howard on September 1-2. Opponents and times will be updated on the website when available.

On September 7, the Knights will play Harford Community College, a team they battled to a 3-2 loss last season.

Essex does not travel again until September 18 when they take on Montgomery College. Three days later, the Knights head to Keyser, W.Va. to play Potomac State College of WVU, in the first of three road games in three days.

On September 22, the Knights are at Garrett College and on September 23 they are in Cumberland to play Allegany College of Maryland.

On October 4, the Knights will against Anne Arundel Community College, a team they defeated 3-0 last season.

The Knights play their road finale on October 23 at Norther Virginia Community College.

On October 20, CCBC Essex will be in Ciceri, Ill. For the Panther Tournament, hosted by Morton College. Teams and times are to be determined.

Postseason:

The NJCAA Region XX Division II Tournament runs November 2-4, at the College of Southern Maryland.

The NJCAA Division II Volleyball Championships are November 15-17, at Charleston Civic Center in Charleston, W. Va.
