Volleyball Schedule Release: Koger Back for 13th Season to Guide Knights

Baltimore County, Md. – Head coach Geoffrey Koger enters his 12th season at the helm – 13th overall – as the Knights prepare to open play on August 16 with its annual alumni scrimmage.

Here is the rest of the Knights' 2019 schedule.

Home

The first home game of season for Essex will take place on September 4, as the Fighting Owls of Harford Community College visit the Wellness and Athletics Center.

On September 10, the Knights begin a three match homestead beginning with College of Southern Maryland at 6 p.m.

A week later, Essex will Host Montgomery College and on September 19 Allegany College of Maryland to close out the homestretch.

The Knights return home on September 28 to host its fourth annual CCBC Essex Knights Volleyball Tournament.

The two-day event include Harcum College (Bryn Mawr, Pa.), Community College of Beaver County (Monaca, Pa.), Cecil College, Christendom College (Front Royal, Va.) and Harford.

Essex will host Garrett College on Thursday, October 3, before playing its home finale two weeks later on October 17 against Northern Virginia Community College (Springfield, Va.). Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m.

Away

The Knights will go on the road to begin the 2019 regular season, traveling to Wye Mills, Md. to face Chesapeake College on August 28.

September 6-7, CCBC Essex will participate in the Shannon Lee McBride Memorial Tournament hosted by Lakeland Community College (Kirtland, Ohio).

The Knights return to the road and travel to Arnold, Md. to take on Anne Arundel Community College on September 24.

Six of the Knights eight games in October are on the road, starting with Cecil on October 1 in at 6 p.m.

On October 8 it's Frederick Community College, followed by Hagerstown Community College three days later.

Delaware Tech (Dover, Del.) welcomes the Knights on October 15, and then the Knights finish the regular season with two straight road games, October 22 against Howard Community College and October 26 at Potomac State College of West Virginia University (Keyser, W.Va.).

Postseason

The NJCAA Region XX Division II Tournament will be hosted this season by Hagerstown. It runs November 1-3 with game times to be announced.
