Bio

Mike Seney was announced CCBC Essex head women's basketball coach on March 26, 2019. He is the first coach since 2004 to hold this post for the Knights. In his first season at the helm, the Knights compiled a 30-2 record, including a season-high 19-game winning streak. His team won the Maryland Juco Conference title (first since 1981-1982 season), and captured the Region XX Divsion II title and qualified for the NJCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championship Tournament for the first time since 1978. Three of his student-athletes were named to All-Maryland Juco and All-Region XX teams, and one was named an NJCAA All-America player. 

From 2014-2019, Seney led the Harford Community College women's basketball team, compiling a 135-15 (.900) overall record, with four NJCAA Division I Women's Basketball National Tournament appearances, and five straight NJCAA Region XX Division I and Maryland Juco tournament championships. In addition, he led the Fighting Owls to three NJCAA District C Championships, and left with an 82-game winning streak as head coach against conference opponents.

Seney has mentored three NJCAA Division I All-Americans, three Maryland Juco Players of the Year (2016-17, 2017-18, and 2018-19), 16 All-Maryland Juco team recipients, and helped guide 22 student-athletes to Division I or II institutions, most of whom received full scholarships.

Seney joined Harford's women's basketball staff as an assistant during the 2013-14 season and helped them to their then third best record (23-7) in school history, and its first NJCAA Region XX Division I title. In 2014-15, the Fighting Owls began the season 2-4 and would go 21-2 after Seney took over as head coach.

Seney is currently finishing his bachelor's degree in Mass Communications at University of Maryland University College. He resides in North East, Md.
