Men's Lacrosse: Knights Defeat Jersey Blues, Sights Now Set on Hawks

Baltimore County, Md. -- CCBC Essex pushed its 2019 win streak to three on Sunday with a 31-3 defeat of Brookdale Community College. Despite the victory, the Knights have fallen from third to fourth in the national coaches' poll.

T.J. Ross (Central York) led the Knights with five goals and added two assists. He now has 14 goals and 12 assists this season and ranks fourth in the NJCAA with 26 points.

Kyle Guenther (Patriot), Jesse Hightower (Eastern Tech) and Malachi Terry (Southern) each scored three goals. Guenther added two assists.

The Knights (3-0) success this season has been predicated on the faceoff.

Freshman faceoff specialist Kollin Vaught (Central York) has won 61-of-74 (.824) this season, including 19-21 this past weekend against Brookdale.

Starting goalie Travis Pereira (Lasalle Academy) played into the second quarter versus the Jersey Blues before getting the rest of the day off. He stopped the only shot he faced.

Dillon Fahey (Parkville) replaced Pereira for the rest of the game. He faced 11 shots and made eight saves.

Sophomore Collin Stasch (Northeast) enjoyed a six-point day on two goals and four assists. Vaught and Noah Stetcher (Calvert Hall) had a goal and two assists each.
