Cross Country Schedule Release: Knights Men Look to Defend, Women to Jump in Front

Baltimore County, Md. - In just his second season, head coach Noah Hutton guided the Knights men's cross country team to the 2018 NJCAA Region XX Division I and Maryland Juco Conference titles for the first time in program history, landing six runners spots in the national meet.

While the men's squad is primed to defend their titles this season, the women look ready to jump to the front of the pack.

Hutton and company begin the season with a race the first week of fall classes, as they head to Dickinson College (Carlisle, Pa.) for the Light up the Night meet. Start time is scheduled for 6 p.m.

The following week they head up to Carroll County for the Green Terror Challenge, hosted by McDaniel College (Westminster, Md.).

Essex will have a bit more than two weeks off before their next set of meets.

On September 21, the men will run in the Bill Fritz Invitational at Rowan University (Glassboro, N.J.), as the women make their way to the Eastern Shore XC Invitational at University of Maryland Eastern Shore (Princess Anne, Md.).

The Knights men will split the squad on Oct. 5 with half attending the Paul Short Run at Lehigh University (Bethlehem, Pa.) and the others joining the women at the Bud Smitley Invitational hosted by Penn State Harrisburg (Middletown, Pa.).

The Hood College Open (Frederick, Md.) is the final regular season meet for the Knights and will be held on October 19.

CCBC Essex will enter the NJCAA Region XX Division I and Maryland Juco Championships scheduled for October 26 at Hagerstown Community College.

The top regional performers will head to Alburquerque, New Mexico on November 9 for the NJCAA Division I Cross Country Championships.
