Bio

Kasey Gagan joined the CCBC Essex women's basketball coaching staff to begin her college coaching career as assistant coach and director of player development and strength training in July 2023.

Gagan most recently played Professional Basketball in Costa Rica, playing for the Asoheba Association. She averaged 18 points and 8 rebounds overseas while her team had an overall record of 15-3 and made it to the championship game.

As a collegiate women’s basketball student-athlete, she spent two seasons at University of Rhode Island (2017-2019), one at CCBC Essex (MD) (2019-2020), one at University of Maryland Baltimore County (2020-2021), and two seasons at St. Thomas University (FL) (2021-2023). At CCBC Essex, as a captain, Gagan helped the nationally ranked #8 Knights to a 30-2 record, a conference and regional championship and was headed to the NJCAA Division II National Tournament before it was canceled due to COVID-19. That same season, Gagan earned NJCAA All-American Honors and was nationally ranked #1 in 3-point attempts and makes.

Gagan also helped St. Thomas University to the Sun Conference Tournament with a record of 11-16 in her first year as a Bobcat (2021-2022). The following year Gagan was appointed captain and led the Bobcats to a record of 21-8, Sun Conference Regular Season Runners-Up, and an appearance in the Sun Conference Tournament where she now holds the record of points scored in a Final Four game with 36. She earned back to back First-Team All Conference Honors as a Bobcat. Gagan accumulated 1,578 career points, 422 rebounds, 286 assists and 262 steals.

She received her Associates Degree in Applied Science from CCBC Essex along with her Certificate in Adolescent Behavioral Health Counseling. She also received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from St. Thomas University and began pursuing her Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Gagan attended St. Raphael Academy (Pawtucket, RI) where she was a two-year captain and Providence Journal All-State Selection. She scored over 1,300 career points while averaging over 20 points her senior year.
