CCBC Essex Knights Baseball 2024 Schedule Release

Rosedale, Md. – Head Coach Sean O'Connor will head into his fourth season with the Knights, looking to continue the program's success under his leadership, with a very young team. After the COVID shortened first season for O'Connor, the Knights have made it to back-to-back appearances in the regional final four.

The Knights will start on the road as they typically do, but this time, they kickoff the season going north before going south, opening their season on the road at Delaware Technical Community College on February 25th for a 1pm first pitch.

For the Knights southern trip, they will take on Caldwell Technical Community College for a single, 9-inning game on February 27th, before a double header against William Peace University's JV team on February 28th.

Returning to Maryland, the Knights will have double headers against regional opponents, Prince George's Community College (March 2nd) and their first divisional matchup within the region on March 4th at the College of Southern Maryland.

The Knights have a busy, home opening weekend as they will host the County College of Morris and Mohawk Valley Community College for a combined 4 games March 8-10. This kicks off their stretch of ten home dates over their next dozen gamedays.

Part of this massive homestand is three double headers over the Knights spring break. They host regional opponent Hagerstown Community College on Saturday, March 23rd, followed by an always crucial double header against CCBC Dundalk on Monday, March 25th, and capped off by the final meetings with Delaware Technical on Saturday, March 30th.

The tail end of the Knights season has them scheduled to be on the road 7 of their last 10 gamedays of the regular season. The Knights close out the regular season hosting Marymount University's JV on April 28th and Lackawanna on May 3rd, both in double headers.

On Sunday, April 28th, the Knights planning to have Youth Baseball Day, including kids taking the field with the Knights and running the bases postgame. The Knights are also looking forward to hosting their second annual Faculty Appreciation Day on Friday, May 3rd. Between the games against Lackawanna, the Knights will honor the sophomore's favorite CCBC faculty and staff members in a brief on-field celebration.

The first round of the regional tournament will take place on May 7th. The defending regional champions, Frederick Community College, will be hosting the Region 20 final four May 10th-12th, with the winner advancing to the NJCAA DII National Tournament in Enid, Oklahoma starting on May 25th.
