Men's Soccer: Four Selected to All NJCAA Region XX

ROSEDALE, Md. -- On Tuesday, November 22, the National Junior College Athletic Association Region XX announced its 2016 All Region XX Division I Men's Soccer teams and Knights Steve Momenya, Nehemiah Crawford, Trevor Brookhart and Javier Avetrani were selected.

Momenya, Crawford and Brookhart were named to the first team, while Avetrani was named honorable mention.

Momenya (Sophomore | Defender | Parkdale H.S.)
He scored the winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Frederick in the NJCAA Region XX Division I Men's Soccer Championship, the Knights' fifth straight, which sent the Knights to its third national tournament in four years...arguably the best center back in the region, he also made an impact on offense, scoring five goals and finishing with 11 points.

Crawford (Freshman | Forward | Baltimore City College H.S.)
Scored a team-leading 14 goals (t-4th Maryland JUCO, t-2nd NJCAA Region XX Division I)...also posted five assists...ended the season with 33 points (t-4th Maryland JUCO, 2nd NJCAA Region XX Division I).

Brookhart (Sophomore | Goalkeeper | Liberty H.S.)
Played 1,283-of-1,710 minutes in goal...posted a 1.19 goals against average (4th Maryland JUCO, 2nd NJCAA Region XX Division I)...had 77 total saves (7th Maryland JUCO, 6th NJCAA Region XX Division I)...his .819 save percentage was No. 3 in conference and region.

Avetrani (Freshman | Midfielder | Oakland Mills H.S.)
Fourth on the team with eights goals (t-15th Maryland JUCO, 12th NJCAA Region XX Division I)...led the team with seven assists (7th Maryland JUCO,  3rd NJCAA Region XX Division I)...his 23 points were third best on the team (t-13th Maryland JUCO, t-10th NJCAA Region XX Division I).
