Men's Soccer: Knights Win First of Season, 4-2 Over Riverhawks

BALTIMORE COUNTY, Md. -- The Knights picked up their first win of the season on Saturday, a 4-2 decision against Maryland Juco Conference foe Anne Arundel on a cold, wet and rainy day at CCBC Essex Stadium.

The Riverhawks (1-1, 0-1 Maryland Juco) opened the scoring on a goal from Peter Roberts in the 10th minute of play and took that lead into halftime.

In the final 33 minutes of play, a total of five goals were scored.

Sophomore Logan Funk (Sparrows Point) put the Knights (1-3-1, 1-1 Maryland Juco) on the board in the 57th minute, finishing a beautiful chest pass from sophomore Nehemiah Crawford (Baltimore City College) off a corner kick.

Freshman Isaiah Price (Bowie) gave the Knights the lead in the 76th minute of play, off an assist from Crawford.

Less than five minutes later, Crawford registed a tally of his own - assisted by Acolmi Rios (Perry Hall) - to make it 3-1.

At 85:30, Opare Asihene's (Battlefield) shot from the right side of the box rang out in the upper left 90 for the Knights' fourth goal.

Alexander Calogero scored for the Riverhawks in the 88th minute to cap the scoring.
