Knights Toga Katsuma Named NJCAA DII Player of the Week

Rosedale, Md. – CCBC Essex Men's Soccer sophomore midfielder Toga Katsuma (Shiga, Honshu, Japan) continued his great start to the season by earning the NJCAA Soccer Division II Men's Player of the Week honors. During the third week of the season, Katsuma totaled two goals and two assists on eight shots on goal.

Katsuma started the week by scoring a goal and tallying two assists in the Knights 14-1 win at Cecil College on September 6th. That Knights victory put them at 3-1 overall on the season, and remained undefeated in Region 20. He would then score the game winner in the Knights big 2-1 win in their home opener vs Division I Harford Community College just two nights later.

He continues to be a big part of the Knights success so far this season, leading the team in goals (9), assists (5), and points (23). His nine goals sees him tied for 5th in goals scored in Division II men's soccer while his 23 points has him tied for 4th.

Katsuma looks to lead the Knights in more Region 20 matchups this week including a home game against CCBC Catonsville and the rescheduled contest against Carroll Community College from the rainout earlier this season.
