On This Date: 2018 Men's XC Wins 1st Region XX, Maryland Juco Titles in Team History

On October 27th, 2018, Knights men's cross country made history by earning its very first NJCAA Region XX Division I and Maryland Juco Athletic Conference titles in program history.

CCBC Essex also had six runners qualify for nationals.

At the regional meet, Knights runners Garrett Harris, Kadiv Wallace and Jesse Kerr finished top five – Harris placed second with a time of 29:27.7, Wallace ran 31:45.0 to earn third place and Kerr finished fourth place with a time of 31:45.2. All three runners qualified for nationals.

Bradley Allen, Charles Whiting and John Weiss ran times of 32:28.5, 32.37.5, and 33:27.6 – qualifying all three runners for nationals as well.  

The Knights defeated Hartford Community College by nine points to win its titles.

Essex sent six runners to compete at the NJCAA Division I Men's Cross Country Championship in Garden City, Kansas.
