No. 7 Knights Top USCAA No. 1 Penn State York to Remain Undefeated

York, Pa. -- The No. 7 ranked Knights women's basketball team defeated Penn State York 93-53 last Saturday on the road to improve to 13-0.

The Nittany Lions came into the game undefeated and the United States Collegiate Athletic Association's No. 1 ranked team. 

CCBC Essex (13-0) jumped out fast and never looked back, outscoring Penn State 25-5 in the first quarter.

In her first game back from injury since December 4th, Lyric Swann (Elkridge, Md.) had seven of her 13 points in the first frame, knocking down 3-of-8 shots. She also had four assists and two steals in the first. 

Vanessa Woodfolk (Charlottesville, Va.) also scored seven points in the first quarter and grabbed four boards. 

The Knights dominance continued in the second quarter, as they built a 56-10 lead heading into the break.

Woodfolk scored 16 points in the first half and would end the game tied for the game-high with 20. 

Jaelyn Swann (Elkridge, Md.) also had 20 points, with 18 of them coming from behind the arc (6-12 3-pointers). She added six assists and two steals.

Lyric Swann did not skip a beat after missing three games. The sophomore played 31 minutes, scoring 13 points (6-18) and finishing with a game-high eight assists.

Patricia Anumgba (Silver Spring, Md.) continues to play well, finishing with 17 points (6-14), seven rebounds and a game-high three steals.

The Knights forced the Nittany Lions into 22 turnovers and finished with 12 steals as a team.
