No. 7 Knights Roll Falcons 84-27, Turn Sights to No. 10 Union County

By Rocco Geppi

Scranton, Pa. -- The No. 7 Knights defense was on full display last Saturday afternoon, forcing 30 Lackawanna turnovers in route to an 84-27 road win.

Patricia Anumgba (Silver Spring, Md.) led the way with 21 points on 9-of-18 shooting and Lyric Swann (Elkridge, Md.) followed close behind with 20 (8-21).

Kelly Foster (Rockhill, S.C.) and Vanessa Woodfolk (Charlottesville, Va.) crashed the boards all day, combing for 30 rebounds. They finished with 16 and 14, respectively.

The Knights (14-0) left little doubt as to who would dominate this game, jumping out to a 17-6 first quarter lead and took a 43-12 advantage into halftime.

Lackawanna did not score double-digit points in any quarter.

Essex's transition game was on display as well, as the Knights converted Falcons turnovers - which included 19 steals - into 37 points.

The Knights also ended 9-12 from the free throw line, their first time over 70% since December 1st at Allegany.

CCBC Essex will travel today to take on No. 10 Union County.

The Knights defeated the Owls 73-66 on December 14th in Cranford N.J.

Anumgba led all scorers in that game with 29 points and had 11 rebounds to finish with a double-double.

Jaelyn Swann (Elkridge, Md.) was also a thorn in the Owls' side, ending with 16 points, including going 3-for-7 on three-point attempts.
