Rosedale, Md. - The No. 3 ranked Knights returned home last night, fresh off setting a new NJCAA Division II record for consecutive wins, and defeated Harford 127-25 to extend that streak to 41 games.

Nine of the Knights 10 players finished with 10 points of more and made at least one three-pointer, as they team went 25-for-60 (41.7%) on three-point attempts.

"Obviously if you know us you know we love the three-point shot," said head coach Mike Seney. "The bottom line is we've just been insanely hot from deep and it continued last night. I'm in awe sometimes myself on how effortlessly this team makes shots from distance"

Lyric Swann (Eldridge, Md.) led the way with a game-high 24 points on 10-of-18 shooting from the floor and 4-of-9 from behind the arc. She also added six steals and six assists.

Anasia Staton (Jersey City, N.J.) had a double-double on 10 points and game-high 13 rebounds.

Patricia Anumgba (Silver Spring, Md.) ended the night with 19 points and had four assists, four rebounds and four steals.

CCBC Essex (22-0) never trailed and turned 39 Fighting Owls turnovers into 61 points.

The Essex bench was dominant as well, outscoring Harford's 49-8.

Over the last 24 quarters (six games), the Knights have held opponents to 20 points or less in 23 quarters and to less than 15 points in 16.

Last night was also the return of spectators to the CCBC Essex Athletics and Wellness Center for the first time since March 2020, due to the Covid pandemic. It was something Seney and the team appreciated tremendously.

"We're glad we could give a show to our fans who haven't been able to see us until last night."

The Knights have provided entertaining basketball all season long, averaging over 101 points per game, while holding opponents to 48.

Next up, the Knights travel to Frederick tonight to take on the Cougars, then Essex will host No. 8 Union County this Saturday at 2 p.m.

Essex and Union have met two other times this season with the Knights prevailing 73-66 on December 14th and 86-66 on January 18th. Both games were played on the Owls' home court.
