On This Date: 2019 Knights Volleyball Defeats Hawks in Comeback Fashion

On October 14, 2019, CCBC Essex women's volleyball defeated College of Southern Maryland at home 3-1.

The Knights got the win in comeback fashion after dropping the first set 25-8, amid 11 errors.

Essex would commit only 13 errors the rest of the match.

In the second set, Essex responded with nine kills on route to a 25-17 win.

The third set was controlled by the Knights, scoring seven more kills than the Hawks to win it by 13.

Essex closed out the victory with a 25-19 fourth set score. 

Destiny Barrera-Infante contributed a game-high 15 kills and 11 digs.

Nyla Johnson finished with five kills and Lilly Remmel had four kills and 10 digs.

Sasha Solomon led the game with 24 assists.

Johnson and Jamira Robinson each had six digs.

The Knights would go on to win their next game 3-1 against Delaware Technical Community College, marking the only time they would win consecutive games that season.
