Carela then stole second base, and Liam bowers ended up walking, which loaded the bases. Leasure would score the next play on a passed ball from the Cougars catcher, which advanced Bowers to second and Carela to third base. Next up, Jimenez hit a sacrifice fly out to left field, which scored Carela from third base. Marrero would reach first by getting hit by a pitch. Emmanuel Maldonado, next batter up doubled to left center, scoring Marrero and Bowers. This would make the game 6-1 in the bottom of the fifth inning with one out.
