Men's Lacrosse: No. 3 Knights Win Big on Sophomore Night

ROSEDALE, Md. -- It was "Sophomore Night" last night as the No. 3 Knights played its regular season home finale at CCBC Essex Stadium.

In typical Knights fashion, they dominated the game from start to finish, defeating No. 8 Anne Arundel Community College 18-5.

Freshman Matt LeCompte (Stephen Decatur) finished the night scoring five goals for the Knights (12-2, 4-0 Maryland JUCO).

Sophomore Dylan Riley (Windsor) finished the night scoring one goal and sophomore Brendan Nolan (Fallston) scored six.

Freshmen Raphael Vargas (Desert Vista) and Nick Esser (Fallston) both finished the night with a goal apiece, while sophomores Dylan Dooley (The Calverton School) and Blake McDonald (Assumption) both finished the game scoring one goal and assisting on goals scored by Nolan.

Sophomore, and team goal scoring leader, Derek Taylor (Perry Hall) finished the night with one goal and assisted on goals scored by LeCompte and Esser.

Sophomore Brandyn O'Connell (Downingtown) finished the night scoring one goal and assisting on two of Nolan's six goals.

Sophomore Tyler Oblong (Loveland) and freshman Chris Parrott (Havre de Grace) both finished the night assisting on goals scored by Vargas and Nolan, respectively. 

Next up for the Knights
CCBC Essex travels today to College of Southern Maryland for a 4 p.m. season finale match up.

With a bye in the first round of the NJCAA Region XX Tournament, the Knights are not expected to play again until April 29 in a semifinal match at host Howard Community College. Team and time are to be determined.
