No. 4 Knights Stay Perfect, Defeat Owls in OT

LARGO, Md. -- Freshman Roman Bubalo took four shots last Friday against Prince George's C.C., but none more important than the one that found the back of the net in the third minute of overtime to give the Knights a 3-2 road victory over the Owls.

The teams combined for 13 shots in the first half, but still remained scoreless at halftime.

In the 53' of play, the Owls (3-4, 1-3 MdJUCO) struck first when freshman Mecardo Knight scored unassisted.

The Knights (9-0, 4-0 MdJUCO) answered immediately, as freshman Kyle Mizell scored on a pass from sophomore Kyle Six just 36 seconds later.

Freshman James Canoles put the Knights on top with an unassisted goal in the 67' of play.

At 74:35, Owls freshman Dominique Ligon scored the equalizer that would eventually sent the game to overtime.

The Knights started its offensive assault fast and 2:41 seconds into the extra time Bubalo scored to keep his team's winning streak alive.

Sophomore goalie Jake Ossie made three saves in the win.

The Knights are now the No. 4 team in the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer poll.

On Wednesday, they host Maryland JUCO conference foe Montgomery College. Kick-off is at 7 PM.
