Men's Soccer: Knights Thump Riverhawks, Win Conference Title

CCBC Essex men's soccer defeated Anne Arundel on Friday night 7-0 to win its tenth consecutive game and secure its first Maryland JUCO Conference title since 2007. 

The Knights (13-4, 11-1 Maryland JUCO) were lead by sophomore Colby Fell (The John Carroll School), who scored three goals, his second hat trick of the season. Fell has eight goals and two assists this season. 

Sophomore Guillermo Almirall (The John Carroll School) came away with four points. The reigning NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Player of the Week scored a goal and had two assists. 

Sophomores James Canoles (Perry Hall) and Roman Bubalo (Baltimore Polytechnic) and freshman Dalwin Granados (Bowie) each added one goal apiece. 

Essex will finish the regular season on Wednesday with a road game against Mercer County C.C. (West Windsor Township, N.J.). 

The Knights have earned a first round bye and the No. 1 seed in this season's NJCAA Region XX Tournament. They will play in the semifinals on Oct. 28 at CCBC Dundalk.
