Bio

Joe Fiedler became the Knights sixth head men's soccer coach in team history in February 2012. He has led the Knights to a 141-50-10 (.726) overall record through 2021, ten straight NJCAA Region 20 Championships (2012-2021), six Maryland JUCO Conference titles (2015-2017, 2019-2021) and six appearances in the NJCAA Men's Soccer National Tournament (2013, 2014, 2016, 2018, 2020-2021, and 2021).

He has been selected Region XX Men's Soccer Coach of the Year (2012 and 2013) and voted CCBC Essex Coach of the Year five times (2013-2014, 2014-2015, 2016-2017, 2017-2018 and 2018-2019 seasons) by his peers. In addition, Fiedler has been named the Maryland JUCO Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Coach of the Year four times (2015-2017 and 2019). 

Prior to taking over at Essex, Fiedler was the head boy’s soccer coach at Loch Raven High School (1997-2011). During his tenure, the Raiders were two-time Baltimore County Championship Finalists, made five trips to the Maryland State semi-finals, three State Finals appearances, and captured the State Title in 2009. Fiedler’s teams received NSCAA Team Academic Awards in 13 of his 15 seasons. For his efforts, he received the 2005 NHFS State Coach of the Year and 2011 NSCAA Small School State Coach of the Year awards.

A graduate of CCBC Essex (then Essex Community College) and University of Baltimore (Bachelors of Science), Fiedler currently resides in Parkville, Md. with his wife Barbara. Together the have two children, son Tim, and daughter Jill.
