Men's Track & Field: Knights Results at Salisbury Spring Meet

Salisbury, Md. -- The Knights traveled on Saturday to compete in the annual Salisbury Spring Meet, an event where CCBC Essex was the only junior college in the 10-school field.

For many of the Essex student-athletes, it was their first track meet in years, as many had been recruited for a fall 2020 season that had to be canceled due to COVID-19.

While this past weekend did not exactly see David slay Goliath, it was largely successful for the Knights.

Zachary Lang (Eastern Tech) threw respectable throws of 9.70m in the shot put and 31.17m in the discuss, in his first meet.

Garrett Harris (Loch Raven) shook off some rust - sat out 2019-2020 to join the National Guard - made an admirable move a bit early in the 1500 and ended up running a 4:25.

James Rudolph (Dundalk) ran a personal best 1600 equivalent in the 1500 with a time of 4:43.

Next up, the Knights head to West Virginia University this Saturday for the Romanoski Open, and then have almost a month to prepare for The All-American Invitational at East Stroudsburg University.
