CCBC Essex Women’s Soccer Wins Over Potomac State College with a 3-0 Victory

Essex, MD- The CCBC Essex Women's Soccer team secured a dominant 3-0 win against WVU Potomac State College. CCBC Essex controlled the match from start to finish, firing 27 shots, with 14 on goal, achieving an impressive shot-on-goal percentage of 51.9%. Their aggressive play led to three first-half goals, sealing the victory early.

Alexandra Henning, opened scoring for the Knights in the 12th minute with her first goal of the season, assisted by Isabella Reesey, also her first assist of the season. Mackenzie Celenza followed up with an unassisted goal in the 27th minute, and Tyetianna Cooper added the third goal just after the half-hour mark. Cooper scored off another set piece taken by Ashlin Fuentes.

The defense also shined, with goalkeeper Kayla Davis Friend making two saves to keep another clean sheet. The team's solid defensive setup limited WVU Potomac State College to only five shots throughout the game, with just two on target. This defensive performance helped maintain CCBC Essex's undefeated season record, now standing at 4-0-0.

Overall, CCBC Essex's combination of strong defensive tactics and sharp attacking play proved too much for WVU Potomac State College. The Knights look to remain undefeated on the season as they get ready for their next match against Richard Bland College here on Saturday, September 7th at CCBC Essex Stadium at 12pm.
