CCBC Essex Women’s Soccer Dominates Carroll Community College with 8-2 Victory

Essex, MD- The CCBC Essex women's soccer team delivered an impressive 8-2 victory over Carroll Community College in their recent match. The game began with CCBC Essex striking early, as Diamond Brown scored within the first four minutes. Carroll quickly responded, tying the match at 1-1, but a goal from Melat Abrham, assisted by Avery Lane, allowed CCBC Essex to regain the lead before halftime. The first half ended in a 2-2 tie after Carroll's Haley Greenwade scored a penalty kick.

The second half was dominated by CCBC Essex, who scored six unanswered goals. Ashlin Fuentes had a standout performance, netting four goals, including two quick goals within just two minutes early in the half. Alexandra Henning added to the scoring with a goal of her own, and Samantha Grace capped off the day with the final goal, assisted by Henning. 

Regarding team stats, CCBC Essex outshot Carroll 23-16, with 15 shots on goal. The CCBC defense, led by goalkeeper Kayla Davis Friend, made six saves to keep the opposing team at bay, while the offense maintained a high shooting accuracy, converting over half of their shots on target into goals.

Players to watch for CCBC Essex include Ashlin Fuentes, who was unstoppable with her four-goal performance, and Samantha Grace, who contributed a goal and an assist. Diamond Brown also made her mark early in the game with the opening goal. Their offensive firepower will be crucial as the team moves forward in the season.
