Volleyball: Knights Open Season with Straight Set Win Over Seahawks

ROSEDALE, Md. -- The Knights last night defeated Cecil College in straight sets for a season and home opening victory.

Freshman Maggie Williams (Loch Raven) led the Knights with 11.5 points on 10 kills and a block assist. She also had seven digs.

Freshman Jillian Boyd (Seton Keogh) was next in line with 9.5 points on six kills, three service aces and one block assist. Boyd also recorded 12 digs

Sophomore Courtney Tripp (Chesapeake-BC) finished with 21 assists and three points, while freshman Gabby Gray (Parkville) had four points.

The Knights (1-0) will travel to Columbia, Md. this weekend to take part in the Dragon Invitational Tournament at Howard Community College. 

CCBC Essex is scheduled to play the host school tomorrow in its first pool play game at 10:00 a.m.
