#3 Knights Battled Vikings, Came out Victorious

Rosedale, Md.— On April 23, 2022, CCBC Essex Knights hosted the Mercer County Community College Vikings in their final regular season contest of the year. The Knights came into this game at 6-3, and the Vikings came in sitting at 5-6.

The starting goalie for the Knights was Jacob Lantz. The first goal was scored four minutes into the first quarter by Pat Ruffolo, with an assist from Wyatt Antkiewicz. Throughout the first quarter Pat Ruffolo recorded a hat trick. In addition to his assist, Antkiewicz also scored a goal in the first quarter. Other goal scores in this frame were Owen Fasulka with two and Joshua Schelfe with one. At the end of the first quarter the scoreboard read 7-0 Knights.

Anthony Holloway Truxon scored the first goal of the second quarter. Zachary DeToto scored a goal and had an assist in the second quarter. Ruffolo scored the last goal of the quarter and was credited with an assist. Bradley David was also credited with an assist. Heading into the hald, the Knights led the Vikings 10-0.

After a dominating first half, Ruffolo scored another goal on an assist from Joshua Schelfe, putting his goal total to five on the day. Less than a minute later, the Vikings got on the board by a goal from Saviour Williams. In rapid response to the Vikings' goal, Antiewicz scored two goals in less than two minutes, assisted by Kalan O'Hara and Schelfe. O'Hara scored the last goal of the quarter with three minutes to go, assisted by Ruffolo who tallied his final point of the day. At the end of the third quarter, the Knights continued to build their lead  to 14-1.

In the fourth quarter, the Knights were able to put up another six goals. Leading the scoring in the quarter was Ryan Skeen with two. The other goals came from Owen Fasulka, Emory Hays, Max Arnone, and Elijah Kla. When the final whistle blew and the game was over, the scoreboard showed an outstanding 20-2 win from the Knights.
